The first time I was actually scared by a spider was under similar circumstances. I was watching a YouTube video of a guy on a ladder trying to catch a large spider with a wide mouth container. The spider was on the ceiling. Of course the spider jumped right at the camera just as the guy was trying to catch it. I didn't expect that to happen. I damn near killed myself when I rapidly pushed back in my chair and falling backwards in the process.

Spiders are pretty small most the time but it doesn't matter how big or small they all give me the creeps if they're real As long as they don't touch me I'm ok with them I don't like it much when they try and break my leg I should have known better though knowing how I am with ladders on holiday decoration seasons and should have looked up before I got on the ladder Maybe I'll remember for X~Mas time

I think your only protection against using a ladder now is to get rid of the ladder. Try and figure out how to put up those decorations without a ladder. Maybe there are tools you could use that would extend your reach. When I was a mechanic I would use something called mechanical fingers. It's a tool that would allow me to grab things in locations where my hands wouldn't fit. I've seen tree pruning shears mounted on long poles to help people trim tree branches from the ground. I'll bet there are tools made just for you that would fit the bill. Just go looking for them.

Yeah! Bubble wrap, arm and knee pads, and a crash helmet. And also boots for ankle support so you don't sprain an ankle. And make sure the area around the ladder is clear so you don't get any puncture wounds. I don't know how many lives you got left. But consider last years mistake as one life lost. And the recent attempt could turn into a permanent reminder. I had a lower back injury a while back. I thought it was going to be permanent. It seems like it took eight months to heal.
